Short Post this Week-A quick trip back to San Diego this past week to take care of some business, visit family and of course an afternoon with my favorite hair stylist! Time to say goodbye to Peder’s sister and family and LEG 3 of Coach Addy’s Big Adventure officially begins later this week!

A quick trip back to San Diego
Apparently I arrived in San Diego just in time for some sunshine! I had a lovely trip to my dads and relished in the time that I had with him and my daughter. We had so much fun sharing stories (until after 1:00am) and filling Jamie in on the crazy Holt family tree. Perhaps a little too much Bulleit might have been consumed, but man we had a blast! An epic 4th of July get together at Herons’ House with Maddie, Jake and some of their friends-Cornhole, pool beer-pong, yummy El Napolito and so many firework displays visible from the back patio!

Drinks at Campfire, dinner at Nicks on State Street (thank you Leela for my special birthday dinner) and a sleep over with my Bestie! Thank you Jake for picking up our tab at Campfire and a big shout out to Brooks who worked so hard at getting the cork out of this older bottle of wine. Such a fun night!

And two amazing nights seeing ladies from Solana Santa Fe, including Martha who was in town from Italy! See the video below when we all surprised her. Thank you Jenny for organizing this very special reunion of the SSF OG's! And your Ms. Potato Food Truck is so YUMMY!
The only bummer of this trip was that it was too short and there were many people that I would love to have seen…Thankfully, I’ll be back in September for another visit!
Hot Tip #1: Oh how I cherish these friendships from long ago. My time as principal at Solana Santa Fe were some of my best years in my profession-and as we all know, the people are what make us love our jobs! Make time for relationships from long ago, they are precious and to be nurtured and cherished! Our little group on the right has been meeting at Moonlight beach to celebrate the end of the school year for at least 15 years. Thank you Lisa for the adorable matching shirts!
Pocatello, Idaho
We arrived in Pocatello, Idaho on June 17th. Hanne, Andrew and their girls, Kirsten and Sarah, have been so welcoming and the very best hosts! We had the best time Moochdocking on their driveway. They live in a beautiful neighborhood on an absolutely gorgeous street-our view was stunning.

But mostly we just enjoyed spending time with family: visiting local breweries, restaurants, way too many delicious Crumble Cookies, family dinners, baking lessons and watching Padre baseball, movies and about 58 episodes of Suits! Thank you so much for allowing us to Moochdock on your driveway! Until next time…
We made a couple side trips (including our favorite so far-Banff Canada!) And of course, we visited the Potato Museum in Blackfoot, Idaho. Did you know that the potato masher and the potato peeler really have not changed much since being invented over 100 years ago! I guess when you get it right the first time, you don't need to innovate.
Bozeman, Montana
A quick stop at Henry’s Lake State Park on our way to Bozeman. What a beautiful campground, our sites are right on the Lake. We even got to see nature at its best, a beautiful Osprey swooping into the lake and coming up with its dinner; He was so proud of his catch, that he proceeded to do a fly by of the entire campground.
We are so excited to spend a few days camping with Hanne, Andrew and the girls. We are on our way to Bozeman and will spend four nights there. Our first time camping with other people in their own rig- we are going to have so much fun! Bozeman is supposed to be such a quaint downtown with so much to do as you walk along the main street and it is all within biking distance of our campground.
Hot Tip #2-Travel with family whenever you can! Bozeman is a family friendly town. So much to do and so much to see. More about this quaint town in next week’s post.
Lesson Learned: As much fun as it is on the road…I do enjoy my time back at Herons’ House!
Bummer of the Week: I was very sad that I was not able to schedule more time with friends this trip home. The time was just too short. 😔
Highlight of the Week: Spending quality time with my kids and my dad. I do miss them while we are on the road, and that makes our time together even more special.
We are so excited to begin Leg 3 of Coach Addy's Big Adventure! We will be heading East and visiting friends in Minnesota, Kansas City and Nashville. Thank you to all of our friends for offering up your driveways and sharing in our adventures! Our final destination of Leg 3 is Pennsylvania where we will be staying with Peder's brother Neils and his family. Have a great week, we are so blessed and we continue to count our blessings and practice gratitude!
